Announcing our patron HM King Charles III
Announcing our patron HM King Charles III
Thu, 9th May 2024

We are delighted that His Majesty King Charles III has granted Norwood the honour of becoming our Royal Patron.

This follows a rich tradition of Royal Patronage throughout our history, which began with the Duke of Sussex Prince Augustus Frederick in 1815. We have been privileged to retain Royal Patronage ever since, including five successive sovereigns.

Our staff and people we support have always been proud and honoured to have the Sovereign as Patron. We are thrilled that HM King Charles III has chosen to maintain this continuity.

Norwood’s CEO, Naomi Dickson said: “I am delighted and honoured that His Majesty has conferred his Patronage on Norwood. This is a sign of the respect in which he holds the charity, and of the importance of the vital service we provide to the community. We are very much looking forward to working with our new Royal Patron over the years to come.”

Norwood’s Chair, Miles Webber said “This announcement comes at a pivotal time for the organisation – with a new Chair and CEO in place, and at a point where we are reviewing our organisational values and strategy, we are delighted and humbled that His Majesty has honoured us with his Patronage.  We look forward to enjoying his support as we move forward into our next chapter.”
