I am lucy, this is my daughter Hester. I would like to share our STORY

 “Hester was born prematurely at 34 weeks and diagnosed with Down Syndrome at birth. Her early years were filled with challenges, including open heart surgery at 6 months and delays in reaching key milestones. She later received additional diagnoses of autism and ADHD, and her anxiety makes everyday life and family outings very difficult.

After struggling in mainstream education, Hester moved to a special school where she is thriving, but extracurricular activities remain limited. At home, her parents provide constant support, and family life can feel isolating and exhausting.

That’s why Norwood’s Unity short breaks have been life-changing. On Sundays and during school holidays, Hester enjoys safe, supported activities with patient and understanding staff who truly ‘get’ her needs. Unity not only gives Hester the chance to do what she loves, but also provides her parents with vital respite and peace of mind.

For families like Hester’s, Unity is more than just childcare – it’s a lifeline.”
