It is important to Norwood and the people who use our services that they are part of a community. Your community organisation can get involved in a variety of ways from fundraising to volunteering. Norwood can help you and your group have a deeper understanding on learning disabilities and autism, as well as help enrich the lives of people Norwood supports.

Opportunities to get involved
Synagogues & Community Groups
At Norwood we promote and celebrate Jewish life and culture, enabling the people we support to connect with their community. Norwood works with synagogues and community groups to ensure that every person with a learning disability feels welcomed and at home within their local community.
To do this we offer bespoke sessions, helping your organisation to understand learning disabilities better and how to be more inclusive. Your organisation can further support Norwood through volunteering and fundraising projects.

Schools & Cheders
Norwood offers schools and cheders a range of innovative and interactive workshops that can support the curriculum. These can be tailor-made to your organisation and classes, raising awareness of learning disabilities, neurodiversity and inclusivity.
We provide teachers with resources and activity packs to support with this learning.
We work with you to create a unique programme that can offer students a hands-on experience, focused learning and opportunities to connect with Norwood and the people we support.
We can also support you during Neurodiversity Celebration Week (13-19 March) and Learning Disability Week (19-25 June), as well as other times of the year.

Children & Young People
Norwood engages with children and young people to offer meaningful opportunities and experiences to develop their knowledge and understanding of learning disabilities and autism.
This can be achieved through a variety of programmes and projects that can be tailored to your needs, either as group, with your family or individually.

This can contribute to your Bar/Bat Mitzvah programme, Duke of Edinburgh Award or Yoni Jesner Award.
